What is included in my inspection?

Rest assured, your vehicle inspection with us is thorough, and for good reason. Our team of experienced mechanics follow a comprehensive checklist, leaving no stone unturned.

Here’s a run down on what we look at – if you’d prefer to play on and leave the car speak to us, head on over and get yourself booked in.

Diagnostics

We typically start with checking the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic system which will tell us if there are any underlying electrical faults. Heads up – only cars built from the year 2000 onwards can have fault codes checked with our specialised OBD Diagnostic Computer.

Mechanical

Our mechanic will then jack the vehicle off the ground to inspect the engine, transmission, differential, brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, and the entire underbody of the vehicle. We’ll be on the lookout for oil leaks, excessive wear and tear, corrosion, accident, or even water damage.

Auxilliary

Then we will dive into the engine bay and auxiliary systems – those that support the main engine’s function, including the fuel, cooling, charging, exhaust, and ignition. We’ll even peek at the turbocharging system if there’s one onboard. All of this contributes to the performance, operation, and efficiency of the vehicle.

Exterior & Interior

Next up, your Swoop mechanic checks the exterior and interior of the vehicle. We’ll inspect and report on paint condition, front and rear lights, wheels and tires, bumpers, trims, and even the front and rear windscreens.

Once inside the vehicle, almost every electrical function, dial switch, and button will be tested, including power windows, mirrors, seats, sunroof, and air conditioning.

Stowage & condition

The boot, stowage areas, and general condition of the seats, dashboard, door trims, and roof lining will all be checked and included in your report. Even the spare key and fuel flap won’t be overlooked during your Swoop Vehicle Inspection.
